Francis Jackson Sheet Music

Composer, conductor and organist Francis Jackson celebrated his 100th birthday in October 2017. In 1946, Jackson succeeded Sir Edward Bairstow - with whom he had sung as a chorister - as Director of Music and Organist of York Minster, a position he held until his retirement in 1982. His performance of Charles-Marie Widor’s Toccata from Symphony No.5 at the wedding of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, to Katherine Worsley, set the fashion for its use at weddings. Jackson has written extensively for choir - including sacred and secular works, settings of the canticles, anthems and hymn tunes - and organ. In 2007 he was appointed CBE for his services to music.
