This is a wonderful Concerto for Oboe, by inspirational American composer, Elliot Carter. The piece was commissioned by the conductor of the Basel Chamber Orchestra, Paul Sacher. Sacher commissioned for Swiss oboist and avant-garde composer Heinz Holliger. Holliger premiered it in June 1988 in Zürich, Switzerland, with the Collegium Musicum.
