Get your Trumpet playing to really swing with this collection of Blues solos! Rob Hudson presents a set of 10 sizzling Jazz tunes in a wide variety of styles to guide you through your first steps into this exciting playing style. The pieces range from Cool Blues ballads and Country Blues shuffles to more unusual pieces with a sly nod to Jazz greats Cannonball Adderly and Charles Mingus! All syncopations and unusual phrasings are introduced gradually, and the key signatures have been kept very simple, making this ideal for the early-intermediate player. All pieces include a full Piano accompaniment.
This is a lovely collection of jazz/blues style pieces: perfect for grade 3-4. The only drawback is the cost which seems excessive for a relatively small collection which does not have a CD of backing tracks. For this price I expect a CD these days. Anonymous

The tunes in this book are simple, but when played with emotion, can sound amazing. The accompaniment isn't too complex so if you have a friend pianist, you can get together for a bluesy jam! Lots of songs, shorter ones, longer ones.. All in all, a good buy. And also has some pieces accepted by the Associated Board Anonymous

My daughter is preparing for grade 4 trumpet and one of the pieces she chose is in this book. Very fast delivery and book in perfect condition. Looking forward to my daughter exploring the rest of the pieces. Anonymous

These are really good fun pieces giving a young player the chance to be immersed in the cool sound world of jazz. The notes are pretty easy - I think high F is the highest - but the player will need a strong sense of rhythm..
Accompanists beware - there are some ferociously jazzy chords in the piano parts, mostly in flat keys so you may need to do some work too! Anonymous
