The demo CD is really good and the personal comments and asides from Sarah are interesting and informative. Truly a clear and understandable book of instruction on DADGAD.

I think it's a great book and easy to follow. All diagrams and charts are there and a lovely cd for practice. Excellent

Excellent ouvrage.

A disappointing book which does not live up to its title. More than half the book is devoted to the basics of the guitar and music - OK if you have not got this information anywhere else. There is a single worked example of accompanying/ backing a tune and the 4 and a bit pages devoted to it do not justify its inclusion in the title - really very poor. The rest of the book has very simple melody line TAB/notation for some tunes. Only of use if you like to play single notes with a plectrum in your bedroom! Utterly useless if you want to play at a pub session or with other instruments unless they play very quietly, OK if you need a starting point but look elsewhere if you are looking for a proper tutor for accompaniment or finger style DADGAD. I regret buying it and the CD is really only of use if you want to hear whet the melodies sound like, I'm sorry to say I found it rather aggravating. 1 star for the basics.
