Peter Horton. A modern pantomime story of good (Ossie) over evil (the wicked baron). Set in the near future with some entertaining comments on materialism, peer pressure and passive TV-watching! Ten songs with unison and two-part singing, used both as a pause in the action and to keep the action rolling. 75 mins.
I was in the original production of Ossie and the Thwartz. It worked brilliantly at Middle School level, and was unique in that the show involved staff acting and singing as well as the pupils! The "Museum" and "Factory" scenes allow individual schools to choreograph and design their own exhibits and movements. The songs are brilliant and catchy. There is room for everyone in this production, and you can guarantee originality!! No more "My Fair Lady"!!!
