The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults was issued in 1972 and is in use more and more as a source of renewal in parishes. The rites which accompany the journey of adults towards their baptism have the capacity to breathe new life into church communities.
New rites need new music, and the collection aims to provide for a growing need. The music is congregation-friendly, with easy refrains that can be picked up almost instantly. The cantor melodies are supported by colourful harmonies in the accompaniments, providing plenty of variety. The texts are spiritually based and present a rich vision of what it means to be baptised. Although written primarily for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, many of these pieces can also be used on other occasions as well, for example, Liturgies of the Word, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, weddings, funerals and other rites of passage.
The FREE CD accompanying the book includes complete performance and backing tracks.
