The New Imperial Edition of Solo Songs has been designed as a chronological anthology of song from the Lutenists down to the present day. As other albums will be devoted entirely to operatic and oratorio arias, these have generally been omitted from the present volumes. For Contralto/Alto Voice with Piano accompaniment.
I am very disappointed with this score, although I am very happy with Music Room's service. In no way, shape or form are these Contralto arias - they're barely Mezzo or Alto songs! Contralto should be the lowest female voice, yet all these have a high tessitura and only go down to the B below middle C - I can hit an octave below that! The songs are good, the edition is OK -- the English translation is above the real lyrics - but the range is quite high. Anonymous

As a relatively inexperienced singer, I am trying to expand my repertoire. I wanted very much to learn Where Corals Lie with the help of my singing teacher and have begun to explore the other songs. The range suits my voice very well. Although I have lower notes, it is important to produce a melodious sound. Anonymous
