        Musicroom Reviews

Well written with a variety of pieces in. It is a fast-paced book for those who generally prefer classical music, although other styles are included. Perhaps most suitable for an adult who is returning to lessons after a long time not playing. Usually needs another book to run alongside because it is too fast-paced on its own for most students.

First impressions are this looks a great tutor that is well laid out for quick progression - my daughter and I are both using it. The only thing I would have liked more of is scales, arpeggios and maybe chord progressions exercises.

I was delighted to receive this excellent book so quickly which is enabling me to help my friend re-learn the rudiments of piano playing after a gap of over 50 years - like having my own music teacher at my elbow.

Great for an adult learner - no kiddie tunes, good explanations and progressions of learning. Some very good classic versions for learners.

An excellent book for the adult or late teenager beginner pianist. It moves along quickly as befitting the mind of an adult or older youngster.

Although I have only just begun to play piano/keyboards, I have played the guitar for around 8 years so I did not really need to be spoon fed too much general music theory. However, this book taught me at the correct level by telling me just enough to be able to practice correct technique and observe both position changes and dynamics etc but still manage to enjoy myself. Recommended!

As a piano teacher I rate this book as the best ever written for adults! It's very easy to follow and gentle in its approach. All steps are encouraging and deal with all aspects of piano playing and theory as well as a bit of general music knowledge. Superb.

This is an excellent book for adult learners. It does move quite fast, but is still thorough, and the pupils I have used it with seem to enjoy being able to progress quickly. It is, as the name suggests, mostly classical arrangements, so I use it alongside something more modern to avoid pupils losing interest. This is the best book I have come across for older beginners, and I would highly recommend.

Clear information and well paced exercises. An adult learner should have no difficulty in progressing quickly.

Good resource for teaching adults returning to piano as it moves on quite quickly. Teenagers like it too & see a real bonus when they get to the page with Fur Elise on it!
