Publisher: ABRSM Publishing
Format: Books | Aural
Aural tests are an integral part of all ABRSM Practical graded music exams. The Specimen Aural Tests provide teachers and students with many practice examples of the tests to use as part of a music lesson or when preparing for an exam.

This volume covers Grades 8 and includes:

  • practice examples for each test in a range of musical styles
  • the examiner rubrics (the exact words that will be used by the examiner to deliver the tests), so that candidates can be fully prepared for what will happen on the day
  • descriptions of the tests as they appear in the syllabus
  • model answers, where appropriate, as a guide to the sort of responses that would be successful in the exam
The Specimen Aural Tests volumes are each available in versions with or without CDs.

      Musicroom Reviews

More expensive as used to be in one book for grades 6-8 but refreshing material to use with good clear directions

I think anyone would be hard put to prepare any grade 8 student for the exam without this resource - although on e could argue that the syllabus does explain the requirements it would be almost impossible to predict the standards of, say, the singing of the lowest part of a three-part melody, for example. A very valuable, and indispensable, resource - anyone who does not use this with their students is putting them at a great disadvantage for the tests.....

Much better than the previous Grade 8 Aural Tests - many more examples of each test.

Great book for preparing students for their exam - it states exactly what the examiner will say.
