The Real Vocal Book Volume II - European Edition

Books | Melody Line, Lyrics & Chords

Publisher: Hal Leonard
Series: The Real Book
Format: Sheet Music | Vocal Work
The Real Vocal Book is the answer to the fake book. It is an alternative to the plethora of poorly designed, illegible, inaccurate, badly edited volumes which abound on the market today. The Real Vocal Book is extremely accurate, neat and is designed, above all, for practical use. Every effort has been made to make it enjoyable to perform.

The selection of tunes for this volume highlights the major jazz composers of the past 60 years, with special attention given to the 1960s and 1970s. A number of songs by Rogers & Hart/Hammerstein are included, as well as many songs by classic pop/rock artists, including Simon & Garfunkel, Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers and the Beatles. A variety of recordings and alternate editions were consulted to create the most accurate and user-friendly representations of these songs.

Generally excellent book - not too many duff numbers, but, there again, I am only a solo bod ( hesitate to use appelation 'artiste!) Love the chord progressions which are sometimes quite 'bald' in these buskers type publications. Good binding! - only one small observation( poss crit)- . . . Was thrown a bit by use of '-' to indicate minor chord i.e. 'C-7' or 'F-' instead of lower case 'm'. May use a high-lighter, but will poss get used to notation. 'At Sundown', 'Skylark' - so many good numbers - best buy for ages!.
