Peter Davey: Abracadabra Violin Book 1 - 3rd Edition (Pupil's Book/2 CDs)

Books and CDs | Violin

Publisher: Collins Music
Author: Peter Davey
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album
Now in a third edition, Abracadabra Violin has a fresh and contemporary new look and is the perfect book for pupil and teacher.

This title offers an identical selection of repertoire to the other books in the Abracadabra Strings series, so they can be used in any combination for group or whole class lessons and mixed ensemble performances. Used alone, they remain ideal for individual tuition.

With tunes you know and want to play, carefully graded in 20 learning steps, this new edition of the popular tutor also includes duets, trios and teacher's parts. Clear fingering and bowing diagrams and concise theory explanations help to teach the fundamentals of the instrument, and each new technical aspect is reinforced by several pieces using that particular technique.

Abracadabra Violin now also includes two CDs of performance and backing tracks, featuring selected orchestral backings.

Excellent. My pupils love the tunes and the accompaniments.

Very pleased with the book. It was my first time playing violin and the book was very easy to understand and the backing tracks made it even easier to play and understand.

I bought this when I started out and use it to supplement my Cohen literature. A fun book with good backing CDs that you want to hum to. Teaches the rudiments of essential techniques and fingering for stopping strings accurately too. Lots of fun, and lots to learn.
