Louis Vierne (1870–1937) was a student of César Franck and got nominated in 1900 as titular organist at Notre-Dame (Paris). Numerous concert-tours through Europe and the US made him famous all over the world.
A nice modern edition with interesting background notes; however, three times Barenteiter have managed to make the sloppy mistake of printing the wrong clef sign on the bottom lines of pages 12,15 and 21. You would think it would be someone's job there to check for errors like that appearing, but they obviously don't check carefully enough. Worse still, when I emailed them to ask if they knew about these errors, they didn't even bother to reply. Anonymous
