John Tavener: Choral Music For Upper Voices

Books | SSA

Publisher: Chester Music
Composer: John Tavener
Format: Sheet Music | Vocal Work
Original pieces as well as new arrangements for upper voices of some of the most popular titles from John Tavener's outstandingly varied and extensive list of works for choir.

Over the years, we can trace a line from the exquisite simplicity of his setting of Blake's The Lamb to the monumental Veil Of The Temple.

The arrangements are all for soprano and alto singers, with a varying number of parts, up to four sopranos and four altos (in Ikon Of Saint Hilda). An Organ or Piano accompaniment part is provided as applicable, with an additional optional Cello solo in Song For Athene.

I have rated the item 5* because it suited my needs. I did not actually need this as choral music but for me to do Song for Athene as a solo voice. I have therefore not assessed what, if any, difficulties may arise when done the pieces are done in a choral setting. However, knowing the talents of the wonderful Barry Rose I have no doubt it will work perfectly. The print is very clear and the copy therefore very easy to use.
