        Musicroom Reviews

Finally after searching and buying various "how to books" for guitar I came across Hal Leonard's Guitar Method Book 1 (left handed version). As a teacher this book has been invaluable for me in that it not only caters for left handed pupils but is also an extremely good "first" guitar tutor for anyone wishing to teach themselves or in my case helping me to teach others. It starts off with the basics, how to read music, good illustrations on how to play your first chords and best of all a CD included so as you learn you can play along with the CD. This is especialy encouraging for younger players. The layout of the book is both very clear and easy to understand from a beginners point of view. Since buying both the left handed and right handed version of these books I have now bought Hal Leonard's Blues Guitar/Rhythm riffs/Lead Licks which include both music and tab. I cannot recommend these books highly enough for any beginner young or old.
