A good introduction to sight-reading, aimed at pupils aged about 7-10. The pictures are good, but would make it slightly inappropriate for an older user. It's very basic, notes are all in the 5 finger position from Middle C, and there are no rhythms shorter than a crotchet. So from here to Grade 1 is quite a leap. I'm a teacher, and have not yet used the book, but will be using it with all my beginners this week, especially the rhythm exercises.

One of my most valuable tools in the tool box! Excellent series from day one.

Really good introduction to sight reading for beginners. Also, helps reiterate fingerings and notation for very young pupils. Would only use this book on pupils who need a more thorough grounding, otherwise I put them straight onto grade 1.
