          Musicroom Reviews

Not being familiar with the first book in the series (for beginners) I bought this for a grade 1-2 pupil. The book is very thorough and well-written, more directed to the older and/or more serious pupil than those who like pictures, CD backings and jazzy pieces. There are many excellent technical exercises, bowing techniques, extended scales etc. It does not correspond directly to ABRSM grade requirements, but goes further e.g. introducing Eb and Ab.
