It really is aural training, rather than cramming a quick practice to get a few easy answers. So still need teacher/CDs etc for proper practice once know what to listen out for.

Breaks down the precise things to listen for in the era questions very well.
The drum-beat intro to each section!

I would also have liked more examples of piano-only pieces as are played by an examiner in the music exams (rather than the whole orchestra with period instruments and size of sound as a guide).

Great book to help develop your aural skills at the higher levels. A workbook rather than a book full of exam type example questions. Highly recommended for tutors to work through with pupils who struggle with the Aural section of exams.

This is an excellent work book for those preparing for examinations. It not only covers the immediate requirements for the ABRSM practical examinations but helps general listening skills.

Fantastic training away from piano lessons. Easy to follow instructions and great to do to build on your existing knowledge. I buy these for older kids and adults to do at home, and use them in lessons with smaller children. Perfect for ABRSM aural exams, as takes away the fear All good fun too!

Very good on the whole. I objected to the centre pages being filled with promotional material. The choice of synthesized music in some of the questions was a pity. The voice of the speaker was clear. I would have liked the key chord to have been repeated each time in CD 2, track 18.
