Beautiful, haunting music. I play Bb clarinet, so I had to transpose this music written for violin. But, that was no great effort. It is lovely played by clarinet.
Wish that this piece could be obtained specifically written for Bb clarinet.

This violin/piano arrangement of the famous string quartet Adagio by Samuel Barber works well, and makes a rewarding piece for a Grade 6-7 standard player. A good tone and controlled vibrato are essential, as is the ability to play in quite high positions, but this should prove a pleasing addition to a student's repertoire, with the accompaniment also being well within the scope of a good amateur pianist
