This book is very good for fingering dexterity making you think and plan which fingering is needed for the pieces. It is good to have pieces that in themselves are not difficult but have their own challenge. A very useful and rewarding book to use

I bought this book based on the earlier review as I have been struggling with my sight reading (being a mature student to music theory). I have reached stage 3 and already my teacher has started noticing a significant difference in my ability to read the scores and timing. Certainly a series I would recommend and I will certainly be purchasing the next volume once I have mastered this one! By the way I am not sitting exams but it is still helpful to know how one would be marked if it was an exam too.

My teacher has students 50 years younger than me who embarrass me with their ease - and my stumbling - at sight reading.
They seem just be able to do what they are instructed quite mechanically; I seem to have a problem that it should be at all easy. So I bought this and am finding my way into the innocent world of just play the notes and count properly . . . and sight reading is fading from my worries.
Good, straightforward, worth having if you need to improve sight reading!!
