Unfortunately the music was much harder than I felt it should have been from the description of the grade - very disappointed child

          Musicroom Reviews

Lovely pieces of music.Really enjoy playing them. Would rate as intermediate rather than easy. Lots of high notes & quite difficult rhythms. Useful having demo & playalong on same disc as it is easy to switch between the two.

Great soundtracks, great music. As for the level of the pieces, I'd caution that there are a lot of high notes, right up to top f, f# or g in just about every piece. I can't remember quite how it is taught but I think when i was back at grade 2-3 a few of the fast high passages would have been beyond me. The quality of the backing tracks is mostly pretty good. A few weak spots, but easily good enough for the job. Its an epic nine hour music trilogy, and so cutting it down to about ten short pieces for flute wasn't going to be easy. Maybe I'd have perhaps made some slightly different tracks selections too. The gorgeous "Breaking Of The Fellowship" from the first film would work well on flute, as of course would the cue "Return Of The King", which featured James Galway. But pretty much all the major themes from the film are represented in some way. Some of the arrangements are just beautiful.
