Ludovico Einaudi: Una Mattina

Books | Piano

Publisher: Wise Publications
Composer: Ludovico Einaudi
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album
All the music from Einaudi's autobiographical fourth album. Includes the tracks with solo Cello. The composer writes:

If someone asked me about this album, I would say it is a collection of songs linked together by a story. But unlike my other albums, it doesn¹t belong to a time in the past. It speaks about me now, my life, the things around me. My piano, which I have nicknamed Tagore, my children Jessica and Leo, the orange kilim carpet that brightens up the living room, the clouds sailing slowly across the sky, the sunlight coming through the window, the music I listen to, the books I read and those I don¹t read, my memories, my friends and the people I love.

This truly is Einaudi at his best. The most melodic album I have come across (Apart from Divenere) and honestly, just blows me away. With this edition also comes the cello parts which makes lovely playing if you can find yourself a cellist. This book can cater for all abilities, for those wanting to learn, or more experienced pianists just wanting to chill. I really do recommend this book!

I'm pleased with this buy. It has a different flavour to the other einaudi piano pieces that I've bought. The rhythms are a challenge but beautiful. Following the score to the album is a must.

Yet again the minimalist composer has proven his ability to make peotic, thought provoking music accessible to all pianists in a clear and well bound edition which no doubt will inspire many performers world over.
