This song has its origins in the Cornish town of Helston. It was written in 1911 by Katie Moss, who was inspired by the unique Cornish music played at the town's annual Flora Festival. Today it enjoys a unique place in Cornish Music History as the best-selling ballad of all time, catalysed by the famous Brighouse and Rastrick Band, fronted by Terry Wogan, who took the song to Top of the Pops, the world and beyond.
