Graham Lyons: Clarinet Studies

Books | Clarinet

Publisher: Useful Music
Composer: Graham Lyons
Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album

These are companion studies to any basic teaching book of Clarinet method. The first few pieces are suitable for complete beginners, with difficulty increasing as the set progresses. New notes and points of clarinet techinque are gradually introduced until, by the end of the book, the studies would challenge a good amateur player. The excercises are musically expressive, including examples of Ragtime, Calypso and Jigs, and can be played for enjoyment or for practice.

I've always been a fan of Graham Lyons music and have used this book with my students of all levels for many years. It is great for practicing "sight reading" as well as having graded studies in there too. My trusty original book of many years was recently lost and I was pleased to find it still in print!

This is a really lovely collection of studies from quite simple to pretty challenging. I am a mature student player, around grade 5-6, an enthusiastic amateur who is just aiming to improve my playing generally. I am enjoying this book immensely.
