This is a really useful book for choirs who want to sing a traditional Choral Evensong. Five settings are included, all from the golden age of Tudor music. The Morley and Byrd are pretty plain, Smith a bit more comlicated and beautiful, and Tomkins a little harder again. Four of the setting use the original five-part choir (SAATB) which gives a lovely rich texture. A four-part (SATB) version of the Smith is included, which is useful if you are short of altos.
