Louis Lefebure-Wely: Favourite Organ Music Book 1 - Nine Easy Pieces

Books | Organ

Format: Sheet Music | Instrumental Album
The first collection of nine Organ works by the popular Parisian Organist and composer. These pieces are of tremendous charm, and make ideal tutorial material as they are simple to follow, but still packed with unusual phrases and performance challenges.

Clearly presented and printed, and a good choice of pieces. I particularly like the Sortie in B flat; it's a cracker!

      Musicroom Reviews

These pieces have essentially been published as a compendium form primarily for use by church organists (as incidental service music) and as organ training material. As such they are clearly typeset (not the usual French music muddle by Leduc etc). All the pieces are indeed very approachable as claimed, and they are all quiet pieces, and are all handpicked from Lefebure-Wely's 'L'Organiste moderne' in twelve volumes. All are extremely well written, easy on the congregation's ear (no FFF glorius technicalor Sorties here), and as such a most useful volume for all denominations of organist. All in all, a good addition to the organist's music library.
