Now more than ever, the ability to sight-read fluently is an essential part of the training of musicians of any instrument. This workbook is designed to help overcome the nerves that cause sight-reading problems, especially for trumpet players working for the Grades 5-8 examinations.Step by step it helps the player to build up a complete picture of each piece, first through rhythmic and melodic exercises related to specific problems, then by the study of a prepared piece with associated questions for the student to answer, then finally to the real, unprepared sight-reading test itself.

          Musicroom Reviews

I really like this book. There are exercises to build your expertise in the sub skills involved in sight reading well. The book also progresses at a rate gradual enough to avoid demoralising you as plough through it. The only way I think it could be improved is if it was longer.
