The book not only gives all the scales for the grade exams, but extra pieces to play in that particular scale, which are useful as sight reading exercises. The Grade 2 book had an error in that it had F major and E minor arpeggios when they should have been broken chords, for the ABRSM exams.

This was an awakening...so helpful with gradual ability levels, but useful applications in sight reading bits too. The chart for practice notation and introduction to fingering was support for teaching.

What an excellent idea! This is a great way of learning scales and keys for the grade exam. There are scalic exercises which are much more interesting than just the scales, and then there are short pieces in the key the student is concentrating on. These can be used for sight reading practice as well. A very good purchase.
