        Musicroom Reviews

Without well founded and good sounding chord progressions you can forget anything you know about improvising melody. The chords hold everything together and while you can come up with your own progressions that sound pleasing to your ear this book armed me with the basic, and more advanced, chord progressions used in most types of popular music. Once your playing these chords with a decent rhythm backing from your keyboard's bank (and the wife's guitar!) the improvised melody can just flow. A very important book for anyone wanting to branch out from simply playing sheet music.

This is a very good book if you want to learn jazzy chords and it is put together really well. Some of the tunes which are presented in the book are also quite catchy!
