A good selection of Jazz styles arranged well for duet.
Appealing melodies and accompaniments for young students.
Excellent for sight reading both clefs.
        Essential for good "ensemble"playing.
        Not particularly.

        Musicroom Reviews

A good book for teenage boys! Motivates them to practise as music is accessible and fun to play. Also encourages ensemble playing on an instrument that is predominantly solitary during the learning years. Would recommend this book highly, as indeed I would all Martha Meir's books.

These duets cover a variety of styles, ranging from more 'rocky' through 'blues' to 'ragtime' in fairly simple parts, though more challenging than book 1. Ideal for for developing sight reading and ensemble skills, and giving an awareness of the structure and patterns which frequently are used in jazz. I had a great evening just playing through them with a friend, the only disappointment being when we reached the end of the book and there were no more! Primo and Secondo are equal level.
