Vocal exercises are the root of good technique for all singers. Whilst these exercises are intended primarily for the purposes of assessment in the examination, they are also intended to give a useful warm-up and are cumulative. Even experienced singers may find some of the exercises useful for strengthening aspects of their performance.

Short exercises and some that make my students and I laugh.
Specifically designed for Trinity vocal exams so not for anyone looking for comprehensive vocal exercises, although there is progression. There are only 3 short pieces per grade. Best used in conjunction with something else to help build vocal technique.

I bought this as I think the (otherwise wonderful) Vaccai alternative exercises are very demanding for young students. However I certainly won't be using these Trinity exercises - they are very silly indeed and guaranteed to put pupils off! Anonymous

I use these vocal exercises with students who are taking exams and with others as warm ups. They are especially good as tongue twisters. My students enjoy singing the silly words and rhymes and this means they spend more time developing their technique. If the book came with an accompaniment cd, I would have given it 5 stars.
