Children love this book. The pieces are lively and have interesting (yet simple to play) accompaniments. They love the pictures and enjoy colouring them in.And my adult pupils also enjoy the book.

I bought this book for my 7yr old son on request by his cello teache. He is quite thrilled, easy to follow, pick up (with the use of the cd) he has only been playing for 4 weeks and can now play at least 2 songs with the music cd (GREAT BOOK FOR BEGINNERS)

A superb book and CD. The book takes you very gently through the very basics. Although designed for children, the easy layout and pictures were fun for me as an adult learner. Playing along with the CD makes even the most screeching cello playing sound vaguely musical and enabled me to feel I was making music right from the first day. The tunes are from a whole range of styles, including some funky jazz and slow classical. It takes you through some easy scales too which is useful for learning what each note should sound like. Also includes tracks which you can tune your cello against, so you don't need to buy extra tuning equipment. Highly recommended

I would highly recommend this book which my daughter uses The CD backing track helps to give pace & context to the notes played by the cello. The book is 'friendly', well presented & very easy to use and follow.
