I'm not normally one for writing reviews, but this guy rocks! The lessons are extremely clear and being able to see how they are actually played is of great benefit, it's like having a private lesson. His Banjo playing is enough to give anyone inspiration( and perspiration!)...it's awesome...GREAT STUFF.

An instructional DVD targeted at the "intermediate" banjo player is a rare thing, even more so when its fronted by Tony Trischka. His choice of more contemporary pieces is a refreshing departure from the norm, as is his approach which is methodical, clear and easily understood. A brief introduction to each of the eleven pieces also gives the student an insight into the people behind the composition and playing of these banjo masterpieces.

A brilliant DVD as I have only been playing the banjo for 5 months. I found this DVD easy to understand and am able to play along. Well worth the money.

This is a good DVD but not for people who have just started playing the banjo, Tony takes you through some great solos and explains them well but does not break them down into lots of detail, I liked this DVD a lot and it is easy to follow if you already have some skill on the banjo and can pick up the songs fairly quickly, just a note, if you think by the name of the DVD that he does songs like foggy mt breakdown and dueling banjos he does not, but a good buy and very helpful. If anyone knows of a DVD with foggy mt breakdown and dueling banjos on it please tell me, any DVDs with these two songs on are impossible to find!
