Very beautiful and very haunting.

Fantastic! It is really haunting and it lingers in your mind. It is the perfect embodiment of Gollum's emotions. It's incredibly beautiful and so sad as well. Unusual chordal and harmonic passages which makes this so much more beautiful. Superb! Anonymous

Emiliana Torrini’s singing on this track is particularly interesting. She explores the tone colour of the voice in a very unique way (sounding similar to Bjork), expressing beautifully majestic, and in some ways, haunting tones. In places it seems as if she is almost singing micro-tonally (and by ‘micro-tonally’ I mean, she seems to be singing intervals that are smaller than a semitone), over the top of Shore’s (by comparison), tonal composition. This really helps the listener to understand the complexity of Gollum’s personality (or, in Gollum’s case, the pluralisation of the word ‘personality’), and makes the overall sound seem a bit ‘sour’ in places before resolving. If this is the case, it is an excellent compositional expression in that Gollum has multiple personalities, and also, multiple cultures when you consider that singing a micro-tone is of eastern origin. Overall I think this song is a brilliant work of art, and a tribute to the world of composition.

I think the music behind the song is the most beautiful music I have ever heard.... The song makes sense. Gollum has been through a lot! Anonymous
