Adagio and Allegro
is one of the first works of major importance written for the valve Horn. The original title was Romance and Allegro
. It was composed during the first few months of 1849, a period when Schumann also composed solo works for Oboe and Piano, Clarinet and Piano, as well as the Konzertstucke for four Horns and Orchestra.
