An excellent book for sax students. The pieces that it contains are very much 'jazz standards', that is, they are among the greatest and most frequently played numbers that you might hear if you were to were to listen to a group of jazz musicians playing in a bar or similar. I use this book a large amount of the time when I am teaching. The Guildhall jazz syllabus uses a lot of numbers from this book. The difficulty range is between grades 1 & 5 approx.
The accompanying chord symbols allow for the music to be played on all saxes. There is a clarinet version of this book but note that if you have a copy of the sax one the clarinet will use the same chord symbols as a tenor or baritone sax. If you have a friend or relative who plays guitar, piano or keyboards and who can read chord symbols, you will have a lot of fun. Get together and enjoy!

A good book with a wide range of pieces. I found the chord symbols very useful for piano or guitar accompaniment. Anonymous
