Not a bad introduction to jazz guitar concepts and some good information, but my booklet had a few printing errors which might confuse a beginner. The odd CAGED system shown is not very clear for a new player.

A brilliant introduction to jazz guitar, especially for chord work and a refreshing approach to soloing. There are some great examples to start you off and I'm pleased to find someone else who agrees that you can solo easily and ignore the stupid modes! I will recommend this DVD to my own students.

Some useful stuff here - diatonic and tritone chord substitutions - but fairly cursory in terms of ideas for soloing over the changes. Mel Reeves is not particularly engaging as a presenter and his playing leaves plenty to be desired (his style lacks fluidity, and the tone on his guitar is awful).
