The CDs show how it should be done.
Just a little more written information here and there would be useful.

I bought this book for my daughter. I decided to get the edition with the CD's as she doesn't always know the songs she is trying to play. When I come home at night from work she can't wait to play me a new song from the book. A lot of the songs I actually know too, which is a nice change from the normal obscure songs this type of book contains. Great buy!

I have never used Abracadabra as a tutor book before, but after its revamp I thought I would give it a try! It seems quite good - a variety of well known and unknown tunes, with nice accompaniments on CD. It also features some nice duets and the book moves at a good pace I think. My only gripe is that although each tune is numbered, there aren't actually page numbers, which is a little annoying when setting practice.

I use this book for teaching my beginner primary school pupils and have found it to be very helpful. Having worked through the book myself first from the viewpoint of a beginner I thought it introduced and explained key things clearly and without too much unnecessary information. I would say that some of the more complicated rhythms could use a little more explanation. But overall I think it is excellent. The CDs that are included are a lovely touch, as they play the piece to you so you can see how it goes and then you can play along on your own - some of the backing tracks are pretty spectacular too!

This is a really useful teaching book. It is informative and fun and my pupils are very happy when they can play the new tunes.
