This is the best series of sight reading books I have come across. The rhythmic exercises before each section are particularly useful for those trying to establish a constant pulse.

I bought these on the recommendation of my teacher who was right - they do offer a useful method that helps with sight reading without being patronising.

This series of books is excellent. It is not a selection of sight reading pieces, it is a proper course. I have taught piano for 25 years and use them all the time. They are particularly good for people who struggle with sight reading and need to have their confidence built up.

The intro says that sight reading needn't be difficult! Maybe not, but this publication didn't quite offer the advice I was looking for. Nicely structured and I'm sure it HAS helped my sight reading (well, it couldn't make it any worse) but sometimes it seems to ask a lot of questions without providing any answers. I am teaching myself piano and was hoping for something more. I'm sure it would be a very useful tool when used in conjunction with a teacher (which perhaps is the norm for most people)?

This book was recommended to me by my piano teacher and I am very pleased with it. It is a well laid out book which takes you through the process of sightreading in a logical and progressive manner, and explains the technique involved in learning good sightreading. There are a series of exercises to practise followed by a test piece at the end. My only comment is that you have to be disciplined enough not to practise the test piece in advance, but this is not a criticism of the book as it would be impossible to do anything about it, and self discipline is a good quality to encourage!

Excellent!!! This is perfect for the budding piano player who wants to improve sight reading. The series flows through a natural progression from basic tips and exercises to full exam style prepared pieces that gets you sight reading quickly and proficiently in no time at all.
