Accompaniments are badly written, and the CDs are of very poor quality

Some excellent songs, however I was incredibly let down to discover that some of the CD backing tracks did not cover the entire song, instead only playing one verse instead of two for example. Very frustrating, especially as I work in a school where nobody is able to accompany on a piano.

A lovely selection of songs. Very reminiscent of the songbooks we used in school when I was there in the 70's with a few modern songs for added appeal. Great to have the accompaniment in CD format for a great singalong anywhere!

This is an excellent selection of songs with very simple accompaniments in the style of the old A and C Blackused by schools in the 70's. The CD's are useful too. My one criticism is that some of the songs are missing the odd section.

Contains a refreshing mixture of old and modern songs with easy accompaniment for schools. Inclusion of CDs very useful for non-pianists - a very worthwhile buy.

What a joyfully eclectic collection of songs. As well as traditional tunes this has lots of songs that capture the zeitgeist, such as a bit of Abba (who thought Mamma Mia would be so all conquering) and "You Raise Me Up" - a favourite of X Factor auditionees everywhere! I like the added info on the origins of each song and the suggested activities give a good starting point for classroom discussion. The CDs of backing tracks are really handy, there's rarely a Pianist (or Piano) around when you really need one!

I bought this for my seven year-old grandson to sing along with and am extremely pleased with it. The selection of songs is much broader than I expected and reminds me of the Singing Together radio programme of my own primary school days, which taught me so much. The playing level is just what I need (easy for a Grade 6 pianist) and the only negative for me, as an older person, is that the lyrics are printed on a grey background that is not easy to read quickly(thus four stars, not five). I shall buy the second volume as well.

Some of the songs were pitched a little high for small voices.
