Pro drummer, Drum tutor
It's a very thorough if a bit old fashioned way of learning the fundamentals of drumkit playing. Quite nice that most of the notation is written by hand and not a music programme. Good to get to read well written drum music.
Well, it is a vintage book, with lots of 70's photos and reference to old fashioned dance band drumming that would not really feature with the young drummers I teach. I suppose it's good to know about dance band drumming, but as a pro dance band drummer, I found the Latin rhythms quite far away from what would be suitable for a cha cha, rhumba and especially samba. On the whole, after reading through the whole book, I can't really see me using more than 20% of it in my teaching programme.

Piano lover, drummer daughter
Ring bound is great, this was for my 8 year old daughter who is learning drums. She finds the music easy to read, and lots of variety.
The book does feel quite dated. But, if it works which it obviously does, I can perhaps see they haven't thought to update it

A comprehensive tutor book for both the Snare Drum and The Drum Kit covering all the fundamentals and much more.
An ideal accompaniment to the graded exam system.
