        Musicroom Reviews

I have no other uke primer to compare this with. However I found it encouraging and I started playing something interesting quite quickly. The only fault was that, in common with guitar tutors, the photos showing string names and picking diagrams are back to front ie. the instrument is a mirror image and I have to turn the book upside down!

Bought this for my little bro with a uke and now he can bang out a few tunes and loves it. The only problem is getting him to shut up!!!

Très bien fait, avec le CD pour s'entraîner, des photos pour voir exactement comment placer ses doigts, des accords enchaînés progressivement, c'est sympa mais il faut savoir lire l'anglais...

I have been learning to play the ukelele for approximately 12 months but since purchasing the ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS UKELELE I have picked up quite a few techniques to obtain a better knowledge of the instrument. Well worth purchasing. Have not watched the DVD yet so am hoping for greater things when I do. Well worth the few pounds to buy this manual.

Great book, well written, very clear, excellent photos of fingering. CD excellent to play along with. Gets you playing chords very quickly so you feel you are really making music. I also have Book 2 which is also excellent and written in the same format.

Just right for what I wanted, a book for an absolute beginner. A very useful purchase.

Book arrived very quickly, and was exactly as advertised. As I've only just picked up the Uke this book suits me as it starts at a very basic level and moves you through the first few steps - how to handle the Uke, string names /positions and the many, many chords to learn. Just need time to practice now. Would recommend to a complete novice.
