          Clear easy to follow instruction.
Occasionally the pieces jumped too far ahead in difficulty

This is the first time that I have used this method with an adult student and can thoroughly recommend it for this age group. My student is thoroughly enjoying their lessons and progressing extremely quickly. I also find the additional CD, which supports the student's aural and musicianship skills development, really helpful.

I used this series with an adult pupil and was really pleased with it. It is clear and speaks easily to an adult learner.

I have had several pupils aged 13 upwards learn from this book. It moves really fast and explains the theory side of things really well. Fantastic

Great, fast moving book for teenagers and adults. CD very useful with backing tracks.

A wonderfully comprehensive tutor book aimed at adults, it explains each concept clearly and illustrates points with each tune. The CD is great for motivated adults who want to do more at home than can be squeezed into a lesson!

If you're looking at Carol Barrett's adult beginner book, give this one a try. For me, the big advantage with this is that you get to hear what the pieces should sound like. The text moves along at a fair pace but it's very clear and concise. The style is friendly and not at all patronising too.

Imaginative titles for the original compositions. A bit slow to get going. Better than the old-fashioned tunes in Kenneth Baker.
