Michael Head (1900-1976) was a British composer, pianist and baritone. He studied Piano, Organ and composition at the Royal Academy of Music, where he later became Professor of Piano - a post he held for nearly fifty years. He wrote over 120 songs, most of which he performed himself, while he also maintained a successful career as an accompanist.
Money, O! was first performed in 1928, and first published in 1929. It is the sixth and last in a song cycle entitled Songs Of The Countryside, a collection of settings of poems by William Henry Davies. It has been arranged in G minor for solo Voice with Piano accompaniment.
