Thomas Tertius Noble (1867-1953) was a British organist, composer and choirmaster, who spent the latter part of his career in the United States. He studied at the Royal College of Music before serving at Ely and the York as organist and choirmaster. In 1913, he took up a position at St Thomas Episcopal Church in Manhattan, New York, where he remained for thirty years, and is credited with establishing a choir school in the Anglican tradition that continues to this day. His second setting of the evening canticles, the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis, is in the key of A major. It is scored for SATB chorus with Piano or Organ accompaniment.
