It's nothing like the revised version of Bk. 1, which is very good. This 1953 edition badly needs updating in content and layout. I've since bought the 'Look, Listen and Learn' series (de Haske). Book 1 overlaps -it's useful for revision of 'Tune a day' bk. 1, and work on improvisation, so it consolidates what has been learnt, but in a different way.

I like how it has been set out with the different exercises you can do. I also like the quizzes at the end of every 5 lessons.

It is a very good tuition book for the absolute beginner.
Need to use this in conjunction with tuition.
