A good jumping off point for starting and progressing through jazz improvisation. The written improvisation start points really give impetus to the player and are in themselves excellent reading and listening practice. An enjoyable way to further musical skills for the novice and intermediate performer.

I bought this for my nephew who is learning to play the Trumpet and particularly likes jazz. He is very pleased with the arrangements and is very much enjoying playing these pieces. So much so, that I am going to buy him another book in the series.

Good intermediate play along although there are long passages for ad lib - which is great if you're that sort of player!
