excellent history of the mandolin in Afroamerican music and biographies of important players.
great to have the blues scales laid out, along with most used chords.
          Good range of tunes
Why put the tuning tracks at the end of the cd. The beginning is more usual and more useful.

Excellent book and CD. Listening to the tunes sounded too professional and beyond my intermediate level at first but I found most of them to be easier to play than I expected.
