This is a textually dense and contrapuntally elaborate reworking of Gershwin's evergreen from 1938, first sung by Fred Astaire in the film 'Monsieur Petroff'. Recorded by Landor records by the Pavão Quartet (Someone to Watch over me - CD LAN 277).
'Slap that Bass' is probably more fun to play than to listen to. It is raunchy, percussive and rather discordant - not for the 'timid'. It is also very bluesy and I think it 'grows on you'. Anonymous
