This is a comprehensive band method in 3 parts, which combines a strong performance-centred approach with music theory, music history, ear training, listening, composition, improvisation and interdisciplinary and multicultural studies. With full colour drawings and colour-coding of important text the series helps to motivate and inform, across the full range of band instruments.
A very well written book with many pieces to play and excercises to learn from. It shows the trombone positions and a chart. It also contains a diary style page for the student to note down what they have learnt and how to improve on it.
The book is a good learning device however a teacher is required for the book to reach its full potential as it expects the teacher to explain the smaller details. No doubt the best book out there if learning in a band enviroment with a teacher, but there is still some use to this book without one. Anonymous
