This book is a very useful introduction to jazz piano. It includes much of the material needed to prepare for Grade 1 to 5 of the LCM Jazz piano exams, such as scales, aural tests and two improvisation tests for each grade. It should be noted at this point that the viva voce tests are NOT in this book. (See the classical syllabus instead) You do need to supplement the book with additional material, as only two pieces are included for each grade and three are required. You need to select from a supplementary list of books for each grade. There are also suggestions for teaching repertoire and tests - so a useful book with some good repertoire and teaching suggestions.

Ok to get you started but you still need to buy a lot of other books for each grade I use abrsm jazz exam books as normal jazz books as EVERY piece has improvising in it.
